Histological water bath

This water bath model is used in histological, chemical, clinical and bacteriological laboratories for stretching and drying tissue samples. The water bath represents the intermediate step between cutting the paraffin sections and placing them on the slides. Passing the specimen into the histological bath allows the tissue to relax and smooth before being mounted on a slide. The heat also causes the paraffin to adhere to the slides. The water baths are filled with distilled water, heated to a temperature of 5-10 ° C below the melting point of the paraffin, and the water bath is usually kept at 40-50 ° C. This is an optimal temperature range for various types of paraffin.
