CHEMISAFE SAFETY CABINETS

HOW TO CHOOSE A SAFETY CABINET?
The customer who wants to equip himself with these tools must first of all identify what type of products he will keep in the wardrobe: chemical products (acids or bases), flammable, toxic or poisonous.
You can also choose based on the certifications of the various models:
- EN14470-1 for cabinets for the storage of flammable liquids
- EN16121 (for most CHEMISAFE cabinets)
- EN61010 for safety cabinets for storing chemicals

After having identified the type of wardrobe and/or the degree of security, we will proceed to check the dimensions of the wardrobe in comparison with the spaces you have available.
Finally, depending on the series, you can choose whether to opt for a wardrobe with solid doors or with glass doors, more expensive but which allow you to check the contents without opening the door each time, saving you time and increasing the comfort of the areas. of work.

Let us now explain all the CHEMISAFE series that Jointlab offers you.
p.s. Our webshop doesn't have all the available models and accessories, but once you've identified the series you're interested in, you can download the clear technical data sheets and find the exact model that's right for you.

Certified safety cabinets for the storage of flammable products.

Certifications: EN 14470-1; EN 16121.

For obvious safety reasons, low or high flammability materials must be stored in fireproof cabinets certified according to the European standard EN14470-1.

The EN14470-1 standard refers to free-standing or wall-mounted cabinets for the storage of flammable substances.

To comply with this standard, CHEMISAFE cabinets are subjected to destructive tests in a furnace by an independent laboratory.

What requirements must they meet?

FIRE RESISTANT
CHEMISAFE models are classified TYPE 90, the maximum obtainable from this type of certification. This means that the cabinet takes 90 minutes before reaching 200°C. This time frame allows personnel to leave the laboratory and firefighters to arrive in time before any fires.

CONSTRUCTION
The structure and insulation are capable of withstanding an external fire.
The CHEMISAFE models are equipped with doors that close automatically in the event of fire, thermo-expanding gaskets and fire dampers.

SIGNAGE
The signage on the cabinets must also comply with the regulations: standard ISO 3864 pictograms (flammable), maximum load per shelf, fire resistance of the model (Type90).

QUALITY CONTROL
The cabinets are subjected to quality tests twice, where the quality of the products and the manufacturing process are checked.

WHY EQUIP A SAFETY CABINET FOR FLAMMABLE PRODUCTS?

Ideal for storing very aggressive chemical products.
The models of the PVC series are completely made with an 18mm thickness of HD PVC, this allows them to be resistant to vapors and very aggressive chemical products, such as nitric, sulphuric, hydrochloric or hydrofluoric acids.
Why is PVC resistant to chemicals?
Like other plastics, PE, PP, or PS, PVC consists mainly of single bonds of carbon atoms. Its chemical conformation gives it excellent chemical resistance, keeping it elastic and easy to handle.
PVC is resistant to many alcohols, fats, oils and petrols. It is also resistant to the most common corrosive agents including inorganic acids, alkalis and salts. Due to these characteristics, PVC is used in industrial applications such as valves, processing tanks, hydraulic applications, insulation of electrical cables and more.

Certifications: EN61010-1.

Features:
- Completely made with 18 mm thick HD PVC.
- Extractor fan cover and plinth completely made of acid-resistant sheet steel.
